Types of sterilizer

• Compact steam autoclaves — benchtop top-loading units (18–30 L) for instruments and small glassware loads; economical and space-saving (SK series).
• Steam sterilizers with dryer — high-pressure steam sterilization plus an integrated drying cycle (150–180°C) so loads come out dry and ready to use (SM series, 20–80 L).
• Steam sterilizers without dryer — large-capacity programmable autoclaves with multiple courses for instruments, liquids, and media (SN, SQ, SQL series, 32–110 L).
• Dry-heat sterilizers — hot-air sterilization for moisture-sensitive items and glassware where steam isn't suitable (SK natural/forced-convection dry sterilizers, 99–300 L).

Key selection criteria

• Steam vs dry heat — steam for most instruments, liquids, and media; dry heat for moisture-sensitive items, powders, and oils.
• Capacity — 18 L benchtop to 110 L floor-standing; size to your peak load.
• Drying — choose a with-dryer model (SM) if loads must come out dry; otherwise a without-dryer model (SN/SQ/SQL).
• Cycle programs — instrument, liquid, media-melt, and keep-warm courses for mixed workloads.
• Temperature & pressure — sterilization to 135°C / 0.255 MPa on larger models.
• Safety — lid interlocks, pressure-relief valves, and self-diagnostics protect operators.
