The UV Clave is a benchtop ultraviolet chamber for decontaminating PCR vessels, tools and other research items of surface DNA, RNA and microorganisms. Six 4 W UV-C lamps at 254 nm sit at the top and bottom of a reflective chamber, and a UV-C transparent shelf passes more than 90% of the light, so items receive exposure from all sides. A 20 minute cycle delivers 600 mJ/cm². UV time is set from 5 to 20 minutes, and an optional 55°C heating cycle of 30–120 minutes dries washed items. The lamps shut off automatically when the door opens.
