Sizing: work from air volume, not floor area
A purifier moves air by volume, so ceiling height matters as much as the floor plan. Two rooms with the same footprint but different ceilings do not hold the same air and do not need the same airflow.
Required CFM = (length × width × ceiling height ÷ 60) × target air changes per hour
Dimensions in feet. A 600 sq ft room with a 9 ft ceiling holds 5,400 cu ft; at 5 air changes per hour it needs 450 CFM, which one JADE 2.0 covers on its upper speeds.
Coverage ratings printed on a box assume a ceiling height you may not have. Where a published square-footage figure and your own air-changes target disagree, size on airflow. Use the sizing selector to get a unit count for your exact room.

What is a wall mounted air purifier?

How many CFM do I need for my room?
Multiply length × width × ceiling height in feet to get the room volume, divide by 60, then multiply by your target air changes per hour. A 1,000 sq ft room at 9 ft with a 5 ACH target needs 750 CFM. Compare that against a unit's rated airflow rather than its advertised square footage, because the square-footage figure assumes a ceiling height that may not match yours.
Does a wall-mount unit need an electrician or ductwork?
No ductwork. These are recirculating units — they filter room air and return it to the same room, so nothing is vented outside and nothing ties into the HVAC. The ONYXsca runs from a standard outlet. The wall fixing itself should be made into structure by whoever normally hangs equipment in your space.
Can a portable air purifier be moved between rooms?
Yes — that is the reason to choose one. The JADE 2.0 is a 31.9 lb steel tower that plugs into a standard 120V outlet with no installation, so it can follow the work between rooms. If the unit will live in one room permanently and floor space is tight, the wall-mount is the better specification.
What does five-stage filtration actually remove?
Each stage handles what the previous one passes. A pre-filter takes the largest particles; the HEPA stage is rated to 99.95% at the most penetrating particle size on the JADE 2.0; activated carbon adsorbs gases and odours that particulate filters pass straight through; and a UV-C stage treats the air before it returns to the room.
