The BactiZapper Classic replaces the open flame for sterilizing platinum inoculating loops, needles, glass tube and pipette mouths, and small metal or borosilicate instruments. An asbestos-free infrared ceramic element reaches 815°C and sterilizes in 5–7 seconds, while a 500°C setting serves as standby and extends element life. The element sits inside a perforated stainless steel guard, the chamber bore is 14 mm wide and 153 mm deep, and the 4 × 6 × 6.5 in unit can be used in aerobic and anaerobic chambers.
