Common questions

Will these labels survive a freezer?

Cryogenic labels use an adhesive that keeps its grip at low temperature and a face stock that does not go brittle. A general-purpose label applied at room temperature and then frozen will usually lift at a corner. Apply cryogenic labels before freezing, to a clean, dry tube.

Autoclave or solvent exposure?

Autoclave-rated labels and tapes are made to come through a cycle still legible and still attached; standard paper labels are not. Solvent resistance depends on both the face stock and the ink, so check what the listing states rather than assuming.

Labels or labeling tape?

Pre-cut labels are consistent and quick where the same size is used repeatedly. Tape is cut to length, so it suits odd shapes, larger vessels and writing longer descriptions by hand.
