Common questions

What is the difference between a sample vial and a specimen container?

A sample vial is sized for a small aliquot that will be capped, labelled and transported or stored. A specimen container is larger and usually designed for collection. The two are not interchangeable where a transport regulation applies.

Attached or separate caps?

An attached cap cannot be mislaid or swapped between vials, which matters when samples are handled one-handed or in a hood. Separate closures let you choose the liner or seal independently of the vial.
