Polystyrene (PS) lids provide optical clarity for visual monitoring of plate contents through the lid and are compatible with the full range of aqueous cell culture and assay reagents. Natural transparent construction allows visual monitoring of plate contents and well-filling status without removing the lid.

The precision-molded lid geometry provides consistent friction engagement with standard 96-well plate flanges — tight enough to prevent accidental dislodgement during incubator stacking and robotic plate handling, while loose enough to allow the gas exchange required for mammalian cell culture CO₂ equilibration. Autoclave compatibility at 121°C enables sterile lid supply for contamination-sensitive cell culture applications.
