Why does flat-bottom geometry matter for absorbance ELISA?
Absorbance measurement by a plate reader calculates concentration using Beer-Lambert law: A = εcl, where l is the path length through the solution. A flat well bottom ensures the path length is consistent across the entire well volume — any curvature (round or V-bottom) creates variable path length depending on where the light beam passes through the well, introducing quantification error. For ELISA OD reads at 450 nm or 405 nm, flat bottom is the required geometry for accurate absorbance quantification.
Is the suitable for cell adherence and culture?
Natural PS has a surface energy that supports moderate cell adherence for many cell lines without surface treatment. For demanding adherent cell lines or primary cells requiring strong attachment, tissue culture-treated (TC-treated) PS is preferred — TC treatment oxidizes the PS surface to increase hydrophilicity and cell attachment.
