Common questions

Which transilluminator works without UV light?

The SmartBlue transilluminator (E4000) uses high-intensity blue LEDs with a 465 nm peak over a 17 × 12 cm viewing surface. The E3000, E3100 and E3200 transilluminators use 302 nm UV.

Which agarose resolves small PCR fragments?

Agarose HR, PCR grade (A1801-HR) resolves 20–800 bp fragments, and Agarose 3:1 high resolution (A1801-31) covers 50 bp–1 kb. Agarose LM low-melt (A1801-LM) gels at 26–30 °C and covers 20 bp–25 kbp.

How large a gel does the myGel system run?

The myGel Mini (E1101) runs one 10.5 × 6 cm gel or two 5 × 6 cm gels at 35, 50 or 100 V. The myGel InstaView (E1201) runs one 10.5 × 10 cm or 10.5 × 6 cm gel.
