Common questions

How do I choose a rack that fits my tubes?

By the tube's outside diameter in millimetres and the number of places you need. Volume is not a reliable guide — a 15 mL conical and a 15 mL round-bottom tube can have different diameters.

Which racks can be autoclaved?

Polypropylene racks autoclave; acetal, polystyrene and most coated wire racks do not. The material is stated on each listing, and it is the material rather than the format that decides.

Why colour-code racks?

Colour is the fastest way to keep projects, patients or shifts from being confused on a busy bench, and it survives being read at a distance in a way a written label does not.
