OneRack® Full-Size Polypropylene Tube Rack — Reliable Performance for 5–10mL Tubes
The OneRack® Full-Size Polypropylene Tube Rack delivers the same proven single-piece molded construction as the POM version, engineered specifically for 5–10mL tubes in the 13mm and 16mm well sizes. Polypropylene construction provides excellent resistance to the dilute acids, bases, and alcohols encountered in standard laboratory work, with an autoclavable temperature ceiling of 110°C. For labs that process standard test tubes, culture tubes, or 7mL vacutainer-type specimens at scale, the PP OneRack offers dependable organization at a competitive price point.
Features & Benefits
- Single-piece PP construction: No assembly required. The rack arrives ready to use and has no separate components that can be misplaced or fail under repeated sterilization cycles.
- Chemical resistance: Polypropylene resists dilute acids, bases, alcohols, and common buffer solutions used in biochemistry, microbiology, and clinical chemistry workflows.
- Autoclavable to 110°C: Withstands standard moist heat sterilization cycles, maintaining dimensional stability and structural integrity through repeated use.
- Teardrop-shaped openings: The teardrop geometry grips tubes securely at the rim, providing retention that prevents tipping on busy benchtops, shakers, and during transport between workstations.
- Molded coordinate labeling: Alphanumeric position grid molded directly into the rack for accurate tube location tracking, eliminating the need for handwritten position maps.
- Water bath compatible: Flat, stable base sits level on water bath grids without floating, making these racks suitable for temperature-controlled incubation of small-volume samples.
- Four color options: Available in White, Blue, Green, and Magenta to support color-coded workflow organization across multiple projects or sample types.

Applications
The PP OneRack® is widely used in clinical chemistry and hematology labs processing 5mL and 7mL collection tubes through automated analyzers and manual pipetting stations. In microbiology, these racks organize culture tubes through inoculation, incubation, and reading steps without requiring transfer to a different carrier. Biochemistry and molecular biology labs use the 13mm and 16mm well sizes for reaction tubes, elution columns, and spin-column assemblies that generate high tube volumes per run. Teaching laboratories benefit from the low per-unit cost of the PP version when equipping multiple student benches, while the autoclavability maintains the sterility standards required for microbiology instruction. The color-coding system also makes these racks useful for managing incoming versus outgoing samples at central processing stations.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the maximum temperature rating for the OneRack® Polypropylene Tube Rack?
The polypropylene OneRack® is rated for continuous use from 0°C to 110°C. This covers standard autoclave sterilization cycles, water bath incubation at 37°C and 65°C, and dry oven drying after washing. It is not recommended for cryogenic use or for autoclaving cycles above 110°C. For wider temperature requirements, the POM version is rated -40°C to +121°C.
Can the OneRack® PP Tube Rack hold 15mL conical tubes?
The PP OneRack® is specifically designed for 5–10mL tubes in 13mm and 16mm outer diameters. Standard 15mL conical tubes typically have an outer diameter of 17mm at the body, which will not seat correctly in the 13mm or 16mm teardrop openings. For 15–50mL conical tubes, select the POM OneRack® Full-Size in the 16mm or larger well sizes.
How does the OneRack® PP Tube Rack compare to wire-frame tube racks?
Solid-body molded racks like the PP OneRack® offer several advantages over wire-frame alternatives: no tube fallthrough, easier cleaning and autoclaving, integrated position coordinate labeling, and color-coding for project organization. Wire-frame racks can be more flexible for mixed tube diameters, but molded racks provide more consistent tube retention and are easier to decontaminate thoroughly.
