Yamato Laboratory Cold Traps

A cold trap sits between your vacuum process and the vacuum pump, freezing out moisture and harmful vapors before they reach the pump. For oil-sealed pumps this prevents condensate from contaminating the pump oil and destroying efficiency; for dry pumps it closes the evaporation system so vapors never pass into the lab environment. Because vapors are captured as a frozen solid rather than condensing inside the vacuum tubing, evaporation rates stay high.

Yamato CA-301 Cold Trap

  • CA-301 — Refrigerated Cold Trap, 4 L, −45 °C: a worry-free, mechanically refrigerated trap that needs no dry ice or liquid nitrogen. CFC-free refrigerant, a stainless-steel condenser as standard (optional glass trap for corrosives), up to 0.9 kg dehumidifying capacity, and casters with front stoppers for mobility. Available in 115 V and 220 V.

Where a cold trap fits

Add a CA-301 ahead of the vacuum pump on a water-circulator-cooled rotary evaporator, a vacuum oven, or any concentration setup that pulls a large volume of solvent or moisture.
