Why Yamato ULF ultra-low freezers

  • Reliable cascade refrigeration — two hermetic compressors deliver rapid pull-down and hold −85°C. The system runs at very low pressure to limit heat build-up and extend compressor life, with an energy-saving low stage that operates only on demand.
  • Air-cooled, coolant-free — an air-cooled condenser with two heavy-duty fans dissipates heat with no liquid coolant required.
  • CFC-free refrigerants — R-508B and R-404A, CFC- & HCFC-free.
  • Battery-backed alarm — audible and visual alarm on mechanical or electrical failure, with over/under-temperature settings, silencing switch, battery test, and a relay for remote alarm hook-up.

  • Chest (horizontal) — top-opening, 2 to 27 cu.ft. (ULF-001C–901C). Best cold-air retention and the widest capacity range.
  • Upright (vertical) — front-opening with 4 adjustable shelves across 5 compartments, 13 to 31 cu.ft. (ULF-401U–901U). Space-efficient footprint and organized access.
  • Undercounter — compact mini-chest units (ULF-101UN, ULF-201UN) at 2 and 3 cu.ft., ETL listed, on a standard 115V NEMA 5-15P plug.

Standard vs Platinum

Standard ULF models use a digital controller with a dual display and tamper-proof lockout. Platinum (CP/UP) models add a touch-screen controller with Hi/Low alarm and email & SMS notification, alarm-relay and power-failure dry contacts, battery back-up, a viewable temperature graph, data logging downloadable via USB or FTP, multi-level security, and VNC remote access from a PC or smart device — plus a ½" access port for probes.

  • Capacity — 2 cu.ft. benchtop/undercounter to 31 cu.ft. floor-standing; size to your rack or sample-box count.
  • Chest vs upright — chest for maximum cold retention and capacity; upright for a smaller footprint and shelved organization.
  • Control & monitoring — standard digital for routine storage; Platinum for remote alarming, audit-ready data logging, and networked monitoring.
  • Back-up — optional CO₂ and LN₂ back-up systems, racks, chart recorder, and cold safety gloves.
