Collection: Oil Baths

Authorized Yamato Scientific Dealer · Ships From US Inventory

High-temperature oil baths for reflux, rotary evaporation, and constant-temperature synthesis — genuine Yamato units, PID control, full manufacturer warranty.

Which Model

Three Oil Bath Families

All PID-controlled with layered overheat protection — the difference is bath material, capacity, and top temperature.

Economy Digital — BO Series

Room temp +5–10°C to 180°C. The BO-302A is purpose-matched to Yamato RE/REV rotary evaporators; the BO-601 steps up to 7 L for larger flasks.

BO-302A, 5 L →

Synthetic-Experiment — BOG / BOS

1–2.2 L to 240–250°C, ±0.3°C. Choose glass (BOG) for visibility or stainless (BOS) for stability; both seat a magnetic-stirrer hot plate in the base.

BOG100, 1 L glass →

Large Capacity — BOA-311

37 L to 270°C, ±0.1°C, jet stirring, RS485 communication, and triple overheat protection for production and QC runs.

BOA-311, 37 L →

Why Yamato

Built for Continuous Duty

High-Temperature Reach

Heat well past water's 100°C ceiling — up to 180°C to 270°C depending on model.

PID Precision

Microprocessor control with digital setting and ±0.1°C to ±2°C accuracy by model.

Layered Safety

Automatic and independent overheat prevention, upper-limit error, overcurrent fuse; the BOA adds a float switch and E-stop.

Stirrer Integration

BOG/BOS baths locate a magnetic stirrer hot plate in the base for combined heat-and-stir reactions.

Oil Bath FAQs

Oil bath or water bath — which do I need?

Water baths top out near 95–100°C. If your application needs more heat than that — reflux, high-boiling solvent removal, or constant-temperature work above 100°C — an oil bath is the right tool. Below 100°C, a water bath is simpler to run and clean.

What oil should I use?

Standard mineral or silicone heat-transfer oil rated for your target temperature works in all models; avoid oils rated below the bath's maximum setting. Check the manual for the specific viscosity Yamato recommends per model.

Are these genuine Yamato units with a warranty?

Yes. LabSupplies.com is an authorized Yamato Scientific dealer — every unit is factory-sealed, arrives with the full manufacturer warranty, and ships from US inventory.

Do the BOG/BOS baths include the stirrer?

The bath itself does not include the magnetic-stirrer hot plate — it's designed to seat one (MFD800/MFH800) in the base. Add a stirrer from Laboratory Stirrers if you need combined heat-and-stir.

How does this ship, and how fast?

Benchtop baths ship parcel from US inventory; the 37 L BOA-311 ships by freight due to size and weight, confirmed before you're charged. Orders of $50 or more ship free; smaller orders are rated by weight at checkout.
