Technical Narrative

The TrippNT 50354 Dissolution Vessel Holder is a procurement-grade pharmaceutical QC accessory engineered for USP Apparatus 1 (basket) and Apparatus 2 (paddle) dissolution testing stations where six 1-liter dissolution vessels must be transported as a group between the dissolution bath, rinsing station, and storage area without individual handling of each vessel — reducing the risk of vessel-to-vessel contamination, vessel damage from contact, and technician fatigue from carrying six heavy 1-liter glass vessels individually. Six white ¼″ PVC rectangular openings, each sized at 4⅜″ diameter, register the vessel body below the flange and hold all six in a fixed 6-position array. Open-corner cutouts at each bay allow bath water and rinse water to drain freely without pooling.

External dimensions are 17⅛″ W x 5⅛″ H x 12⅛″ D with a 2.58 lb finished weight — sized to hold the standard 6-vessel array of all major dissolution apparatus models (Distek, SOTAX, Hanson/Teledyne, Agilent, Logan Instruments, Pharma Test) whose vessel positions are standardized at 77 mm (3.03″) center-to-center spacing. The non-porous ¼″ white PVC construction withstands immersion in dissolution media (aqueous buffers, 0.1N HCl, simulated intestinal fluid) and routine wipe-down with IPA. Ships fully assembled. Backed by TrippNT’s 100% Lifetime Guarantee.

Laboratory and Clinical Applications

The 50354 is deployed across pharmaceutical and regulated analytical environments requiring grouped 6-vessel dissolution vessel handling, including pharmaceutical QC release testing labs running USP Apparatus 1 (basket) and Apparatus 2 (paddle) dissolution tests, pharmaceutical R&D dissolution method development labs, contract research and testing laboratories (CROs/CTLs), USP and ICH dissolution test method transfer labs, FDA and EMA GMP-compliant dissolution testing suites, pharmaceutical formulation development groups, generic drug filing (ANDA) dissolution data generation labs, nutraceutical and dietary supplement QC dissolution labs, veterinary pharmaceutical QC dissolution labs, and academic pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences teaching labs where dissolution testing is part of the curriculum. The carrier is specified wherever SOPs require intact 6-vessel removal from the dissolution bath rather than individual vessel retrieval.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 50354 compatible with all major dissolution apparatus brands — Distek, SOTAX, Hanson, Agilent, Logan — and what vessel types fit the 4⅜-inch openings?

The 4⅜″ (4.375″) diameter openings are sized for the standard 1-liter USP glass dissolution vessel used across all major apparatus brands including Distek Evolution 6100, SOTAX AT7, Hanson/Teledyne SR-8 Plus, Agilent 708-DS, Logan LDT-600, and Pharma Test PTWS 810D. Standard 1-liter round-bottom and flat-bottom borosilicate dissolution vessels from Kimble, Pyrex, Gerresheimer, and equivalent suppliers all measure approximately 103–108 mm (4.05–4.25″) outer diameter below the flange, fitting within the 4⅜″ opening. Vessels with non-standard flange geometries or proprietary shapes should be measured before assuming fit. The 50354 is not designed for mini-vessel (200 mL or 500 mL) or flow-through cell apparatus configurations.

How does the open-corner drainage design work during vessel transfer from the dissolution bath, and does the carrier introduce cross-contamination risk between vessels?

The open-corner cutouts at each bay position are designed to allow bath water or rinse water to flow freely downward and out of the carrier as it is lifted from the dissolution bath, without trapping liquid against the vessel exterior or between adjacent bays. This prevents pooling water from running from one vessel position to an adjacent vessel during transport to the rinsing station. The six bays are physically separated by ¼″ PVC walls; no cross-contamination pathway exists between bays during dry transport. For validated dissolution testing SOPs with strict cross-contamination controls, verify your specific risk assessment confirms that the PVC bay walls provide adequate separation between adjacent vessel positions.
