Globe Scientific PCR Cold Rack for Corbett/QIAGEN Rotor-Gene (PCR-COLDCOR) is the only cold rack in the Globe Scientific catalog designed for the unique 0.1mL 4-strip tubes used by QIAGEN Rotor-Gene real-time PCR instruments. Standard 96-well cold racks do not hold these narrow Corbett-style strips securely — the wells are too wide and the strips sit loosely, making uneven thermal contact with the cold surface. This rack has wells machined specifically for the Corbett strip geometry, plus additional positions for 16 standard 0.2mL PCR tubes and 4 standard 0.5mL tubes.

Multi-Format Capacity

Rotor-Gene workflows often involve more than just the 4-strip tubes that go into the rotor. Template DNA is prepared in 1.5mL microcentrifuge tubes, master mix is aliquoted in 0.5mL tubes, and dilution series may use 0.2mL tubes. This rack holds the Corbett strips alongside the supporting tube sizes, keeping the entire reaction setup at 4°C in one organized unit. 64 positions for 0.1mL Corbett 4-strips, 16 for 0.2mL PCR tubes, and 4 for 0.5mL tubes.

Blue-to-White Color Indicator

This rack changes from blue to white as it warms from 4°C to 7°C — a deliberately different color scheme than the purple-to-pink and green-to-yellow indicators used by the standard 96-well cold racks. In labs running both conventional plate-based PCR and Rotor-Gene rotary PCR, the distinct blue color immediately identifies which cold rack belongs to which instrument platform, preventing the accidental use of the wrong rack format.
