NXT Power Integrity PRO Desktop UPS Overview

The NXT Power Integrity PRO Desktop UPS (NPTU250-GL-N) delivers 250 VA / 200 W of isolated, line-interactive backup power. It shields sensitive bench instruments, point-of-sale terminals, and back-office IT from spikes, sags, and outages. Inside the chassis, a low-impedance isolation transformer, surge diverter, and noise filter clean incoming power before disturbances reach the load.

Unlike strip-style battery backups, this unit pairs galvanic isolation with true sine wave output for sensitive loads. NXT GROUND circuitry eliminates ground loops that trigger system lock-ups on networked benches and registers. A 24 VDC output rail powers compatible printers directly, removing the external adapter that clutters most counters.

Every Integrity PRO Desktop unit is listed to UL1778 and backed by a three-year NXT Power warranty. That warranty covers components and internal batteries from the ship date. Standard USB communication supports monitored shutdown on Windows hosts.

Available Sizes and Configurations

SKU Description Capacity
NPTU250-GL-N Integrity PRO Desktop UPS, 120 VAC 60 Hz 250 VA / 200 W

Need more headroom? The NPTU400-GL-N steps up to 400 VA / 320 W in the same isolated desktop form factor.

How to Choose the Right Isolated Desktop UPS

Matching a desktop UPS to a bench comes down to load type, not just outage runtime. Weigh these axes before you spec a unit:

  • Capacity headroom — size the UPS above your combined load; the NPTU250-GL-N supports up to 200 W continuous.
  • Isolation vs. standard backup — an isolation transformer blocks common-mode noise and ground loops that plain battery strips pass straight through.
  • Waveform — sensitive instruments and PFC power supplies favor true sine wave over simulated output.
  • DC printer support — the 24 VDC rail drives compatible printers without a separate adapter.
  • Site power — confirm a 120 VAC 60 Hz circuit and a NEMA 5-15 receptacle at the point of use.

Laboratory Applications

Isolated desktop UPS units protect the low-draw electronics that fill modern labs and service counters. Data loggers, network switches, single-board controllers, pH and conductivity meters, and imaging peripherals all benefit from clean, conditioned power within the 200 W rating. Ground-loop elimination keeps networked instruments from locking up mid-run.

Beyond the bench, the Integrity PRO Desktop suits point-of-sale terminals, ticket and receipt printers, credit-card readers, and security cameras. Conditioned power reduces nuisance faults on shared circuits, while battery backup carries connected gear through brief interruptions for an orderly shutdown.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the NPTU250-GL-N run on a standard 120 V wall outlet?
Yes. It uses a NEMA 5-15P plug and accepts 120 VAC input across a 96–144 VAC range at 60 Hz.

What is the output waveform?
True sine wave. That makes it suitable for PFC power supplies and instruments that reject stepped or simulated waveforms.

How is this different from a standard battery backup?
It adds a low-impedance isolation transformer and NXT GROUND conditioning. Those block common-mode noise and ground loops that ordinary battery strips pass through to the load.

What does the 24 VDC output power?
The 24 VDC rail (up to 3.0 A) drives compatible printers directly, eliminating a separate external adapter.

How long is the warranty?
Three years, covering components and the internal battery from the date of shipment.
