The Globe Scientific BioBlue Trinocular Educational Microscope with CMEX-18 Pro Camera (EBB-4253-DC18) is purpose-built for classroom instruction. Semi-plan achromatic SMP 4/10/S40/S100x oil objectives with 45mm DIN parfocal distance deliver bright, crisp images at every magnification. The 1W NeoLED cordless illumination runs on rechargeable AA batteries (included in the power system), eliminating cord clutter and trip hazards in multi-station classrooms. The bundled CMEX-18 Pro 18MP USB-3 camera adds digital documentation and projected demonstration capability to the instructor's station.

Designed for the Classroom, Not the Research Lab

The BioBlue occupies a different niche than the bScope or iScope. Where those platforms target clinical and research users, the BioBlue is engineered specifically for educational settings with features that protect the instrument from student misuse: secured eyepieces that cannot be removed and lost, an adjustable rack stop that prevents students from crashing objectives into slides, and a reinforced ergonomic stand. The DIN WF 10x/18mm eyepieces and SMP semi-plan objectives produce clear images for biology, anatomy, and general science instruction without the premium cost of infinity-corrected optics.

BioBlue vs. bScope for Education

The BioBlue costs less per unit, includes anti-damage features for unsupervised student use, and runs entirely cordless on standard rechargeable AA batteries. The bScope offers infinity-corrected IOS optics (sharper at high magnification), a wider 20mm field of view (vs. 18mm), larger stage, and optional Plan or Phase contrast objectives. Choose BioBlue for secondary school and introductory university courses where instrument protection and per-station cost matter most. Choose bScope for advanced university labs where optical quality and upgrade paths to phase contrast or fluorescence are needed.

Optical Configuration

  • Eyepieces: DIN WF 10x/18mm, secured against removal

  • Objectives: SMP 4x/10x/S40x/S100x oil, semi-plan achromatic, 45mm DIN parfocal

  • Nosepiece: Reversed quadruple

  • Stage: 130 x 130mm with 70 x 28mm double-layer X-Y mechanical stage (2µm positioning precision)

  • Illumination: 1W NeoLED, cordless with rechargeable AA batteries and integrated power supply

  • Safety: Adjustable rack stop, secured eyepieces

Bundled Camera

The CMEX-18 Pro 18MP USB-3 camera connects to the trinocular port for instructor demonstrations projected onto a screen or shared monitor. ImageFocus Alpha software enables live viewing, image capture, and measurement tools. This camera is typically installed on the instructor microscope while student stations use the binocular BioBlue (EBB-4260) or trinocular BioBlue without camera (EBB-4253).

Applications

Secondary school biology and general science instruction, introductory university biology and anatomy courses, educational microscopy demonstration with projected images, prepared slide observation (plant cells, animal tissue, bacteria, protists), and any teaching environment where durability, cordless convenience, and student-proof design are priorities.
