The PlateFuge is a mini-sized centrifuge with a swing-out rotor for spinning down PCR and microtiter plates before amplification, so reactants collect at the bottom of each well. Two plate carriers rest at 75°, letting plates load without sealing tape or caps; as the rotor accelerates to 2,550 rpm (600 × g) they swing level. Most samples are spun down in under 20 seconds, and opening the lid triggers an electric brake that stops the rotor in 4 seconds. It accepts skirted, semi-skirted and non-skirted PCR plates and most microtiter plates.
