The MC-12 is a compact 12-place microcentrifuge that reaches 16,100 × g, clearing the 16,000 × g threshold many molecular biology protocols call for, in a body 8.7 in wide. Speed runs from 500 to 15,000 rpm in 100 rpm or 100 rcf steps, with 10 second acceleration and 12 second deceleration. The aluminum rotor takes 1.5/2.0 mL tubes directly and 0.5 mL or 0.2 mL tubes with optional adapters. A single knob and LCD set time from 20 seconds to 99 minutes or continuous, a separate button gives momentary spins, and the unit is cold room safe.
