The SmartDoc 2.0 E5001-SDB combines a blue LED illumination base, an orange viewing cover and a smartphone imaging enclosure for viewing and documenting nucleic acid gels without UV. The base peaks at 460 nm to excite green fluorescent stains such as SYBR Green, SmartGlow, GelStar and GelGreen without damaging DNA. The 18 × 18 cm orange cover filters out the blue light and can be propped at an angle for band cutting, while the enclosure images gels up to 15 × 15 cm through a 12 mm orange photo filter.
