How foam dressings differ

• Bordered vs non-bordered: bordered dressings have an adhesive edge and need no secondary dressing. Non-bordered pads are held in place with tape, wrap or a film.
• Silicone adhesive vs acrylic vs non-adhesive: soft-silicone contact layers are designed for gentle removal. Non-adhesive foams go under compression or a retention bandage.
• Shapes: square and rectangle, plus sacral and heel shapes, thin or lite versions, cavity fillers, tracheostomy foam and PolyMem finger/toe dressings.
