Globe Scientific TUFFBLOK XL 4-Way Tube Rack (456945 series) is the expanded-capacity version of the TUFFBLOK system. Same 4-way tube format (microcentrifuge, 12/13mm, 15/17mm, 50mL), same linkable design, same PP construction — but more positions per tube section. The XL is built for the throughput demands of specimen processing departments, shared teaching labs, and production-scale research benches where the standard TUFFBLOK runs out of positions before the batch is finished.
More Capacity Where It Matters
In specimen receiving, a single processing shift can fill a standard TUFFBLOK multiple times — sorting blood tubes, distributing culture tubes, organizing centrifuge tubes, and staging microtubes for aliquoting. The XL reduces the number of rack changes during a shift. In teaching laboratories where 20 students share a bench, the XL provides enough positions for everyone's tubes without dedicated per-student racks. The extra capacity per section means fewer racks on the bench, not more.
Interchangeable with Standard TUFFBLOK
The XL uses the same connection system as the standard TUFFBLOK — link XL to XL, XL to standard, or any combination. Set up standard TUFFBLOK at individual benches and XL at the shared processing station. When collaborative work requires expanded capacity, link them together. Separate and reconfigure when the project changes. All models share the same color options for consistent lab-wide color-coding.
