Technical Narrative

The TrippNT 53940 48-Inch Adjustable Surgical Helmet Rack is a wall-mounted white ¾″ HDPE rail system designed in direct collaboration with an OR surgical department to solve the persistent contamination and damage problem of surgical helmet storage — specifically Stryker® T3, T4, T5, and compatible powered air-purifying respirators (PAPRs) that are expensive, contamination-sensitive, and awkward to store without a dedicated wall system. 5 individually sliding HDPE hooks ride on the 48-inch rail and are repositioned by sliding to any position and hand-tightening a thumb screw — no tools, no fixed positions, completely reconfigurable in seconds when the helmet count or configuration changes. Each 2-prong hook supports up to 50 lb and is constructed from the same non-metal, sterilizable HDPE as the rail, so the entire assembly can be wiped down with standard OR disinfectants, bleach solution, and autoclaved accessories without corrosion or material degradation.

At 48″ W x 5½″ H x ¾″ D and 6 lb, the 48-inch rack ships fully assembled with wall anchors and screws for gypsum board, wood stud, or masonry wall installation. Individual replacement or expansion hooks (53942, sold separately) allow hook count to be customized. The companion 24-inch version (SKU 53941) provides 3 hooks for smaller or larger helmet inventories at the same wall position. Backed by TrippNT’s 100% Lifetime Guarantee.

Laboratory and Clinical Applications

The 53940 is deployed in surgical and clinical environments requiring organized, contamination-protected surgical helmet storage, including OR suite corridor wall-mounted helmet staging between cases, sterile processing department powered respirator storage and drying racks, surgical helmet charging station organization adjacent to PAPR battery charging positions, OR team room helmet assignment and storage racks, interventional radiology suite powered respirator storage, cath lab surgical helmet storage walls, orthopedic OR suite helmet storage between high-contamination joint replacement cases, trauma bay surgical helmet organization, veterinary surgical suite powered respirator storage, ambulatory surgery center helmet storage in multi-OR configurations, and any clinical environment where Stryker or compatible surgical helmets must be stored off the floor, off carts, and on a dedicated contamination-minimizing wall system between uses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 53940 compatible with all Stryker® surgical helmet models, and can it hold non-Stryker powered air-purifying respirators?

The 2-prong HDPE hooks are designed to engage the yoke, headband loop, or hanging point on Stryker T3, T4, and T5 surgical helmet systems — the most commonly deployed PAPR surgical helmets in US surgical departments. The hook geometry also accommodates most other surgical helmet brands with a hanging loop or attachment point in a compatible position (Zimmer Biomet, Surgical Helmet Systems, and similar). Helmets without a dedicated hanging loop or yoke (full-face respirators designed for shelf storage only) may not engage the prong geometry securely; verify that your helmet model has a hanging point before fleet deployment. Contact TrippNT at 1-800-874-7768 with your helmet model for compatibility confirmation.

How does the 48-inch 53940 compare to the 24-inch 53941 — and when should each length be specified?

Specify the 48-inch 53940 (5 hooks) when the OR team has a larger helmet fleet (4–6 helmets) requiring simultaneous organized storage at one wall position, or when the wall zone allows a 48-inch span.. Additional hooks (53942, sold separately, $53.60 each) can be added to either rack up to the physical limit of the rail. If future helmet inventory growth is anticipated, the 24-inch 53941 provides room for expansion; the 48-inch 53940 is the correct specification when current count is 4–5 helmets and expansion beyond 5 is not anticipated.
