Technical Narrative
The TrippNT 54001 3-Slot Magnet Pipette Holder is a clear polycarbonate three-position holder that mounts to any ferrous steel surface via rare-earth magnet backing to keep three auto pipettors organized, protected, and immediately accessible at the bench or BSC position where they are used. Three open-top slots hold pipettors of any brand (Eppendorf, Rainin, Gilson, Thermo, Brand, and equivalent) vertically by the barrel with the tip end down, which is the correct pipettor storage orientation — barrel-down storage can allow liquid to enter the mechanism over time; tip-end-down keeps the pipettor mechanism dry during storage. The clear polycarbonate construction provides full visibility of which pipettors are staged at the position. The rare-earth magnet backing attaches instantly to ferrous steel surfaces — BSC side baffles, instrument cart uprights, stainless steel bench panels, metal shelf faces — without drilling, tools, or adhesives, and repositions in seconds.
At 6″ W x 4⅛″ H x 5⅞″ D and 0.42 lb, the holder is compact and lightweight for use at individual bench or BSC positions. Backed by TrippNT’s 100% Lifetime Guarantee. MRI UNSAFE: rare-earth magnet backing presents a projectile hazard in MRI Zone III and IV.

Laboratory and Clinical Applications
The 54001 is deployed at bench and BSC positions requiring organized, accessible, tip-down auto pipettor staging on ferrous steel surfaces, including cell culture BSC side-baffle pipettor staging for three-size pipettor programs (P20/P200/P1000), molecular biology bench pipettor organization at PCR and cloning stations, pharmaceutical GMP manufacturing bench pipettor staging, cleanroom laminar flow hood pipettor organization, academic research laboratory bench multi-volume pipettor staging, environmental analytical chemistry bench pipettor organization, pharmaceutical QC bench pipettor program staging, clinical molecular diagnostics bench pipettor staging, food and beverage QC bench pipettor organization, and any ferrous steel surface position where three auto pipettors of any brand require organized, tip-down no-drill magnetic staging at the point of use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the 54001 fit all standard auto pipettor brands and barrel diameters — what pipettor formats does it NOT accommodate?
The three slots are designed for the full range of standard single-channel manual auto pipettors from all major manufacturers: Eppendorf Research/Reference/Xplorer, Rainin Pipet-Lite/Classic, Gilson Pipetman, Thermo Scientific Finnpipette, Brand Transferpette, and equivalent formats in P2 through P5000 volume ranges. Standard single-channel barrel diameters of approximately 12–22 mm fit securely. Multi-channel pipettors (8-channel, 12-channel) are significantly wider and do not fit the single-channel slot geometry. Electronic pipettors with battery packs that significantly widen the barrel above standard diameter may not sit stably; verify the maximum barrel diameter before fleet purchase. Repeat pipettors and Combitips dispensers are not compatible with the slot design.
Why is tip-end-down storage the correct orientation for auto pipettors — and does the 54001 enforce this orientation?
Auto pipettors should be stored tip-end-down. In this orientation, any residual liquid in the tip cone or lower barrel section is drawn away from the piston and mechanism by gravity. Barrel-end-down (tip-up) storage allows residual liquid to migrate toward the piston seal over time, causing corrosion, seal degradation, or calibration drift. The 54001 open-top slots hold pipettors with the barrel collar resting on the slot lip and the tip end pointing down and forward, enforcing the correct storage orientation for all three positions automatically.
