Globe Scientific Snap-N-Rack 100-Place Microcentrifuge Tube Rack (456300 series) ships flat and snaps together by hand — the same flat-shipping design used across the Snap-N-Rack line, applied here to the 1.5mL and 2.0mL microcentrifuge tube format. At 100 positions, this is the highest-capacity microtube rack in the Snap-N-Rack catalog. Alphanumeric well markings (A1-J10) provide sample identification for logging and retrieval.
100 Positions for High-Volume Microtube Work
Genomics labs extracting DNA from hundreds of samples, clinical labs aliquoting patient specimens, and biorepositories accessioning incoming samples — these workflows move through microcentrifuge tubes at rates that overwhelm 24-place and 48-place racks. The 100-place format provides enough positions for a full sample batch in one organized, marked rack. The alphanumeric grid (10 rows of 10) corresponds to common sample numbering schemes and makes position callouts unambiguous during collaborative work.
Non-Floating for Water Bath Use
The polypropylene construction is dense enough that the rack sinks in water baths — it does not float. This allows temperature equilibration of loaded racks by submerging them directly in a 37°C or 65°C water bath. For protocols requiring incubation at controlled temperatures (enzyme digestions, hybridizations, heat inactivation), the non-floating property means the rack stays fully submerged instead of bobbing at the surface with uneven thermal contact.
Ships Flat, Reduces Freight
A case of 20 flat-packed Snap-N-Racks occupies a fraction of the volume of 20 pre-assembled racks. For institutions ordering hundreds of racks for teaching labs, new facility buildouts, or biorepository expansion, the freight savings are significant. Assembly is tool-free and permanent — the snap joints do not loosen over time.
