The Pelican 1606 Air Case gives 24.54 × 12.3 × 10.22 in of interior at 12.45 lb empty — molded in HPX² polymer, which is where the weight saving comes from when a loaded case has to be lifted or flown. With Pick n’ Pluck foam plucked to shape that leaves room for an instrument up to 21.5 × 9.3 × 8.2 in. It is watertight, crushproof and dustproof to IP67, sealed on a gasketed O-ring, and carries an automatic pressure equalisation valve so it still opens after a flight or a cold room.
