Mechanix Wear Torch Flux Welding Gloves Features

The Mechanix Wear Torch Flux glove handles high-heat stick work and MIG welding, crafted from Durahide® top-grain cow leather that resists drying and cracking under heat. A flame-resistant cotton lining adds thermal protection, while a 5mm knuckle heat insert shields the back of the hand. Kevlar® stitching throughout keeps seams intact under constant heat.

Most stick gloves omit the lining and stitching detail that separate a true high-heat glove from a basic leather mitt. This model resolves that gap with FR cotton lining and Kevlar® thread. A patented HiRoller™ fingertip design repositions exposed seams to improve dexterity, durability, and control.

Reinforcement targets the highest-wear zones. Welding torch palm reinforcement and internally reinforced fingertips add heat resistance and abrasion life, while glide-resistant side seams guard against surface burns. A Keystone thumb and Gunn Cut palm improve control for heavy material handling.

Laboratory and Industrial Applications

Pipe welding, aerospace, and heavy construction crews use the Torch Flux for sustained stick work where radiant heat and slag demand a lined, insulated glove. The FR cotton lining and 5mm knuckle insert protect during long arc-on times that overwhelm unlined leather gloves.

Manufacturing and automotive fabrication teams rely on the torch palm reinforcement and gauntlet cuff during MIG passes. The Durahide® leather resists heat-cracking across repeated cycles, making the Flux a durable choice for high-duty welding programs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What welding processes is the Flux built for?

The Torch Flux is designed for high-heat stick (SMAW) work and MIG welding, with an FR cotton lining and 5mm knuckle insert that suit sustained arc-on times in pipe and structural welding.

How does the FR lining help?

The flame-resistant cotton lining adds a thermal barrier between the leather and the hand, extending comfortable handling time during high-heat welds and reducing radiant heat transfer to the skin.

What keeps the seams from failing under heat?

The glove is stitched throughout with DuPont™ Kevlar® thread, which retains structural integrity under constant heat where standard cotton thread would scorch and break down.
