What is the difference between open-bottom strips and round-bottom strips (290-8172-01R)?

Round-bottom strips (290-8172-01R) have U-shaped well floors for liquid containment — suitable for ELISA, cell culture, and agglutination assays. Open-bottom strips have no well floors — the bottom of each position is completely open, enabling membrane filter attachment, electrode contact, sensor chip access, or custom surface integration from below. Open-bottom strips cannot contain liquid without a membrane or surface bonded at the base.

How do I use open-bottom strips with a membrane filter?

Bond or press-fit a porous membrane (PET, polycarbonate, nylon, PTFE) to the open underside of the strip before loading liquid.
