The BeadBug 3 D1030 is a compact bead beater for one to three 2.0 mL screw-cap, non-skirted microtubes, sized for low to medium throughput. It shakes at 2,800 to 4,000 rpm so hardened micro-beads repeatedly strike the sample, and many samples are homogenized within 45 seconds. The timer runs from 3 seconds to 3 minutes. Processing happens inside disposable sealed tubes, avoiding the carryover of handheld probe homogenizers, and the unit measures 6.9 × 8.3 × 5.3 in and weighs 5 lb.
