A surgical instrument cleaning brush is selected on three specifications, not on brand: bristle material, brush diameter, and overall length. Bristle material decides whether the brush cleans a serration or scratches a finish. Why the brush is the step you cannot substitute

Nylon or stainless steel bristles?

This is the decision that damages instruments when it goes wrong. Size the brush to the lumen, not to the instrument
