Common questions

How do I know which cap fits?

Caps are specified by the outside diameter of the tube they close, in millimetres — 10, 12, 13, 16 mm and up. Match that number to the tube; the tube's volume does not determine it.

Snap cap or screw cap?

A snap cap is faster and is the usual choice for short-term storage and transport within a lab. A screw cap gives a more reliable seal for shipping, freezing and anything that will be inverted or held for long periods.

Are these caps sterile?

Most closures in this range are supplied non-sterile, which is stated on each listing. Where a sterile closure is needed it is normally supplied already fitted to a sterile tube.
