At this diameter, tubes and vials have substantial mass when filled, and the three-tiered contact is essential for preventing the toppling that standard flat-bottom racks cannot control with wide, heavy vessels.

Scintillation Vial Preparation

Scintillation counting requires organized vial holding during sample addition, cocktail dispensing, capping, and mixing. A 25mm scintillation vial loaded with sample and 10mL of cocktail weighs over 15 grams — heavy enough to tip out of a loosely gripping rack during the vortex mixing step.
