At 36″ W x 8″ H x 5⅞″ D in ¼″ white PVC, the shelf is sized to span the full interior width of a standard 36″ laboratory fume hood — or to occupy one half of a 48″ or wider hood — elevating bottles, reagent stocks, waste jugs, and small apparatus off the hood's work surface, creating vertical clearance below for larger equipment while keeping the most-used reagents at arm's reach at the rear interior.

The open-frame ¼″ PVC construction allows laminar airflow to pass freely through and around the shelf without creating dead-air zones or face-velocity disruptions that would compromise ASHRAE 110-2016 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1450 fume hood performance requirements.
