The Globe Scientific NexiusZoom EVO with Gooseneck LEDs and CMEX-18 Pro Camera (ENZ-1703-PG-DC18) is the most fully equipped stereo zoom microscope in the Globe Scientific catalog. It combines the NexiusZoom EVO zoom body (0.65x-5.5x objective, 6.5x-55x magnification) with a pillar stand, two flexible gooseneck LED incident illumination arms for directional side lighting, one transmitted 3W LED for backlighting, and the CMEX-18 Pro 18MP USB-3 camera for high-resolution digital documentation.

Why Gooseneck Illumination Matters

Standard fixed-position LED illumination lights the specimen from directly above, which can flatten surface detail and create blind spots in recessed areas. The dual gooseneck arms on this model let you position light from any angle — raking light across a surface to reveal texture and scratches, illuminating inside cavities and channels, or creating directional shadows that enhance three-dimensional perception. This makes the PG configuration the best choice for quality control inspection, surface defect analysis, jewelry examination, and any work where lighting angle is critical to seeing what you need to see.

NexiusZoom EVO vs. StereoBlue

Globe Scientific offers two stereo zoom microscope lines. The NexiusZoom EVO provides a wider zoom range (1:8.4 ratio, 6.5x-55x vs. the StereoBlue's 7x-45x), larger working distance, and configurations expandable up to 220x magnification with optional auxiliary lenses. Choose the NexiusZoom EVO for demanding industrial and research applications. Choose the StereoBlue for general laboratory and educational use at a lower price point.

Optical Configuration

  • Zoom Objective: 0.65x-5.5x, 1:8.4 zoom ratio

  • Magnification Range: 6.5x-55x (expandable to 220x with auxiliary lenses)

  • Eyepieces: HWF 10x/23mm with eyecups

  • Incident Illumination: Dual gooseneck LED arms — flexible, positionable from any angle

  • Transmitted Illumination: 3W LED

  • Stand: Pillar

  • Working Distance: Large, accommodating bulky specimens

Bundled Camera

  • Camera: CMEX-18 Pro, 18MP, USB-3, 1/2.3" CMOS

  • Software: ImageFocus Alpha for capture, measurement, and annotation

Applications

Quality control and incoming inspection of PCBs, solder joints, and electronic components. Surface defect analysis on machined parts and castings. Gemology and jewelry examination where directional lighting reveals inclusions and surface features. Entomology specimen preparation and identification. Botanical dissection and morphological study. Forensic trace evidence examination. Coin and numismatic grading. Dental lab work. Any application requiring three-dimensional observation with controllable directional lighting and digital documentation.
